Virtual Mayflower Holiday

Working with older people in the community and in care Caraway created the experience of a ‘Virtual Holiday at Home’. Based around the themes of freedom and exploration.

The Mayflower Holiday took place on Tuesday 10 November. 115 bags were delivered to local residents, containing information leaflets, craft packs and even a cream tea!

The same day many participants took to zoom for sea shanties, singing, dancing and Mayflower bingo.

“We wanted older people to be stimulated to learn about local history, join in citywide events, and to feel included themselves in a local project. We wanted them to engage with activities, and the online singing and dancing. We wanted them to see each other and feel loved wanted and included.”
